Addis Ababa is the capital city of Ethiopia, located in the Horn of Africa region. The city is situated on a high plateau with a central mountain range divided by the Great Rift Valley. Its climate is determined by its altitude and geographical location. It is hot and humid in the lowlands, and cool in the highlands. There are two principal seasons: rainy from June to September and generally dry for the remaining eight months.
