ESA/ESRIN, Earth Watching, Fires : Using data from satellites orbiting the earth, it is possible to quickly obtain a general overview of large areas of terrain, to monitor the emergency, identify risks, detect fires and once the fire has been controlled, assess the damage by mapping the extent of the burned areas.

NOAA Fire Index : NOAA fire products include multichannel colour composite imagery and single-channel greyscale imagery of wildfire and controlled burn events. Products in this event group show smoke (FSM), hotspots (FHS) or both (FSMHS) from the fires.
